Little Red Riding Hood – Puzzle with Augmented Rеality

This game includes puzzle and augmented reality application.

In the box you will find a cardboard puzzle consisting of 64 parts, suitable for children over 3 years of age. To start the application with augmented reality is required presence of a mobile device and properly assembled puzzle. Through your mobile device you can explore your favourite characters from the fairytale “Little Red Riding Hood” loved by many generations.  You can look each scene from different perspectives, moving the mobile device or the puzzle. The mobile device can be zoomed in or out, depending on the level of detail you want to see.

What you have to do:

After you put all the pieces  of the puzzle together , you can load the application. Starting ” Little Red Riding Hood – Puzzle with Augmented Reality ” will turn on the camera on your device. Point the camera at the image of the puzzle and the story will come alive to you as a 3D hologram. The camera of the mobile device must be constantly focused on the puzzle to keep the visualisations active.

The App:

The app is available in Bulgarian language, English version is coming soon and can be downloaded for free from Google Play for Android users

What is AR?

Augmented Reality (AR) is a new technology which allows an interaction between the real world and digital content. With AR, users can project and see digital objects, images or videos in the real world environment. Augmented Reality (AR) is actually an interactive experience of a real-world environment whereby the objects that reside in the real-world are “augmented” by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory, and olfactory. Augmented reality is related to two largely synonymous terms: mixed reality and computer-mediated reality.

The overlaid sensory information can be constructive (i.e. additive to the natural environment) or destructive (i.e. masking of the natural environment) and is seamlessly interwoven with the physical world such that it is perceived as an immersive aspect of the real environment. In this way, augmented reality alters one’s ongoing perception of a real world environment, whereas virtual reality completely replaces the user’s real world environment with a simulated one. 

How is AR Relevant?

The applications of Augmented Reality are quite a few. The AR technology could be used in almost all aspects of our lives and particularly in allowing one to see and explore objects, as if they were in front the person watching.



AR is particularly useful in shopping and choosing consumer products. While online shopping has its limitations through the use of the Augmented Reality technology one can now see products in full size and detail essentially bringing the showroom to their home.  One is then able to make wiser decision when shopping online. Moreover, AR is used to create additional interest towards already existing products. Including AR games to a Coca Cola  bottle or a KFC bucket would help generate additional sales.


Visualising architectural projects no longer requires the creation of scaled physical 3D model. Through the use of Augmented Reality you can visualise and explore all architectural models regardless of their complexity. Any changes made to that projects could easily updated while that is not the case with real life physical models. Showing anyone the models you want them to see just requires the downloading an application to your smart phone or tablet.


Through the use of Augmented Reality artists can now display their artwork in a new amazing ways. Not only can they create new digital art accessible to anyone but they can also transform their old art into 3d models that can then be seen in real size and detail by anyone, thus creating virtual galleries. The possibilities of Augmented Reality in art are endless.

The human anatomy, wild animals, physics elements, fossils, and ancient artefacts can all brought to your home or classroom giving you a perspective of education that was previously unavailable or limited to virtual reality.
